2005 Excursion Limited radiator replacement

Did anyone switch from plastic top bottom radiator to a full aluminum one?

\Is the OEM a 2 row or 3 row?

Any experience with:

AUTOSAVER88 3 Row Full Aluminum Radiator Compatible with 2003-2004 Ford F-350 Super Duty F-250 Super Duty 2003-2005 Excursion 6.0L V8

Visit the AUTOSAVER88 Store Visit the AUTOSAVER88 Store

I bought one and the bottom 4 welded clips came bend.
Does it matter?

Shall I pressure test it or just return it?

The price for this 3 row full aluminum one was only $226.

I haul trailers up and down the Helene damaged WNC mountains.

Many thanks for any feedback.

This is what I replaced mine with. Just a drop-in. It does sit about 1/4 inch higher but that is not a problem.

EDIT: Radiator comes with the transmission quick-connect and the screw on compression connectors. However, I ended up removing the quick connect ones from the original radiator and using those. They were easier to attach to the lines (guess the old quick-connects were 'trained'/used to the old ones).

I ended up with a Denso because the shop couldn’t get the OEM quick enough. It’s one of the very few non OEM parts in my truck. If I were to do it again I’d go OEM or possibly a fully welded aluminum like the Mishimoto. The OEM and Denso have plastic tanks. Where they are crimped to the fins looks like a point of failure.
My 2 cents…

I tried the mishimoto as replacement and it came w/ plastic tank. First one was damaged in shipping and was replaced and replacement had cracked plastic tank. Complained about poor packaging and the refunded my money and I've been running a spectra from autozone for 5 years w/ no trouble.

I've had the cheap...$200 back then...Ebay all aluminum completely welded up units in both trucks for 12-15 years with no issues. My 00 F350 did not come with the transmission fluid coolant lines through the bottom of the radiator...though the 00 Excursion did...so I added that along with a bigger 6.0 transmission cooler in front of it.
