Gabriel Max or Bilstein Shocks?

Could use some advice regrading shocks for my '01 E250. Previous owner installed Gabriel Max Control shocks, only 45000 miles ago. Seem like a very good shock, but am considering changing over to a set of Bilstein "Comfort" shocks, largely because I can get them for an exceptional low price. I can't decide.. what do the shock experts say? Are the Bilsteins a much better shock, primarily for highway use? Keep the Gabriels or would the Bilsteins be worth it?

Thank You

Is there anything that you don't like about the current shocks?

Does it currently have stock suspension?

Does it currently have stock wheels and tires?

Everything is stock. We drive paved, mostly 2-lane roads, all the time. Current shocks feel good and aren't leaking for failing in any way.. but wonder if the Gabriels are almost too heavy, meant more for towing. We never tow anything so thinking the "Comfort" Bilsteins might be a better fit. Plus, they are on sale for a great price right now.
