Hey all. I have a wait to start problem on my 1999 f250. The wait to start light will not come on the first time i cycle the keys. But always does the 2nd time i cycle. Even if i just shut the truck right down warm. And retry. The light wont come on and the truck will not fire. It will just turn over. But if i turn the key off and back on i get my wait to start. Been like this for a few months. Any ideas appreciated.
I'm not sure if its any different for the 99s but if it were mine, I'd check the glow plug solenoid. You could check the terminals, but frankly they are a consumable piece and not super expensive, so I'd find it easier to replace it than find a helper to turn the key.
Thanks i will look into. Its just odd i can be driving for 2 hours. Turn it off. Then immediately turn it on. It will not fire without that wait to start. Was curious of pcm. Truck does have 270 so thousand mils

That sounds like a PCM relay with crappy contacts. Try swapping the PCM relay with a different one and see is that changes things. The glow plug relay won't make a difference if the engine is already warmed up.
