I'm putting a Cleveland (2bbl) in an 89 Bronco. I saw in Summit that Dynomax offers a set of headers for 80-95 Bronco and F-150 4x4 with 351M/400. Is there any reason I can't use those?
In my experience long tube headers are very much application specific. Even getting long tube headers into the vehicle/engine combo they were made for can sometimes require modification. You'd probably be better off going with Sanderson type shorty Cleveland headers.
these headers should work since there is only about 1 inch difference in height between the C and M blocks. this might put the left header below the oil pan, but should allow more clearance at the front diff., which should allow more room for exhaust.
I'll probably end up buying a set, cause nobody else makes headers for that application. (that I know of) I'm pretty sure shorty headers won't work because of frame clearance. The summit part # is WLK-85053, Jegs is 289-85053.
That's a really strange way to list those headers since the 351M was retired in 1982. I guess for $119.00 it's not too big a gamble. You can always off them on eBay if they don't work.
You might still want to look at the Sanderson pieces.
