I get this clunk sound whenever I move my steering wheel back-and-forth while driving or I approach a uneven road while steering into it I went underneath and moved this steering stabilizer link by hand and it makes clunking sound when moved back and forth by hand Is this normal?
year of truck
mileage etc lifts and tires etc
lots of stuff could cause the noise
its normal to be able to roll the rods, they have to move as suspension moves

2023 f250 lariat super crew 6.5 bed 4x4 3.73 gears
My 23 is making noise now, checked entire front end and the noise is between the steering box and column. Hopefully the TSB will cover it as I am beyond warranty now.
I have a 2021 F350 7.3 that I have been hearing and feeling noises and thumps in the steering for over a year now. It doesn't affect the steering control but it certainly feels and sounds bad. I finally took it to my dealer for routine service and asked them to look at the noise. The service manager told me they have replaced a few Super Duty steering shafts and columns. They felt mine needed a shaft and would be $575 installed. I have owned 12 Ford and 14 Chevrolet trucks and have never replaced a steering shaft in any of them. So today I called Ford Customer Service and asked them to pay for it. I was hoping for some gesture of goodwill on their part. Silly me- they said "No, you are out of warranty". Tonight I read about a pending recall for a small number of Super Duty steering columns that were improperly made by their Korean supplier. Loss of steering control is possible. This makes me distrust Ford's quality a little, and I'm not impressed with their lack of interest in helping a customer.

EVERY manufacturer is having higher numbers of recalls, it's just how many vehicles they affect and how publicized it is. Ford's seems to be hitting higher numbers of vehicles and everyone is making a stink about it.
My FIL's '23 had that same clunk, got it replaced under warranty.
If there is a pending recall that gets sent out, and your truck falls under the recall, and you've already had the work done, save your receipts - Ford will reimburse you for the cost once the recall is active.
