Window / door surround seal

I have new one and I am current removing (chipping out) the old one. It turned into a hard crispy plastic like substance. It doesn’t look like the factory used any glue.

the new replacement piece looks like it just locks in the grooves. I just want to make sure people don’t glue the new ones in before I install mine.

this is the seal that run in the top of the door channel and down the back side of the door/window channel.

Mine just pushed in place, got them from Jeffs Bronco Graveyard. Are you replacing the #21452 and or #21456. Removing the division bar very bottom nut #45336-S made it easier to do the job without removing the window.

I am actually replacing #21536. It’s the rubber backed felt front that seals the window to the top of the door frame channel.

Up the long side, mine stayed in place very well by just pressing it in place, the glass will reinforce that as it goes up / down. Occasionally I would see the horizontal portion sag downward out of the grove when riding with windows down any ... at places, but a very few short dabs of silicone sealant followed by a rolled up glass and left to cure ... cured that.

perfect! Thanks, appreciate the info. I’ll try press in 1st and then silicone as needed after that.

I need to get busy and do the same thing to my truck. Hopefully I will get to it in the next three weeks.

mine is a driver and once I do the front radius bushing and brake system it will be almost a daily. I am retired so it’s an errand / go do my hobbies type truck. My drivers side had a big chunk missing so the wind noise was driving my nuts!
