Door Weatherstripping

forgive me if i'm way behind on this, but i just saw that LMC truck has the door seal weatherstripping listed for our trucks this month for the first time i've noticed.

my door seals (and hinges) are shot, and i've read the threads on reconditioning the rubber by shoving surgical tubing through it. with me focused on other mechanical issues, i didnt have any plans to deal with these 'luxury' items any time soon, but its nice to know that the door seal rubber is out there now.

Yeah, LMC has had them for a while, but IMO the surgical tubing mod is still a good one because it reinforces the seal and provides a better, more durable seal for the doors.

Now if you could find some rear Crew Cab window beltline seals.... that would be something to celebrate!

I don't know the proper name for the seals, but are the "beltline" seals the ones on the outside at the bottom of the window? i need some of those, mine are a bit rusty.

Yep, that's them! Good luck finding some. Ford has discontinued them and there seems to be nobody in the aftermarket making them. The last ones I saw (on Ebay) were selling for close to $100 each side.

The tubing in the seals is a bandaid.

Replace the seals and do it right.

They are actually called Wiper Seals, IIRC.

Very very good to replace.

IF i was replacing my gaskets.I need to and will someday.I would not buy from anyone but steele rubber products. They will have the best fit and durometer gasket.Hands down.I am very leery of lmc. have gotten some shabby quality stuff from them in the past.

They are BELTLINE moldings and FORD can still get them. I just replaced mine on my crew cab in October.

As for the CRAP that LMC sells, I would MUCH rather keep my 16 year old originals and put surgical tubing in(which I did do)

I've got all the pieces(cab side that fits over the pinch weld) for a crew in my shop. If you want them let me know.

Do you happen to have the part numbers handy?

Remember, you get what you pay for.

My seals are just fine.
Biggest thing with any seal is to keep them clean.

well, with just a measly super-cab instead of crew cab, rear window parts don't concern me. the input on LMC seal quality is helpful, though.

when i finally get around to replacing my door pins - just put a big ole cross-beam in my barn to act as an overhead hoist anchor, but with one of the first uses to be that of door hanging support - i'll look into steele rubber for replacement seals.
