mine was 4 to 5 long flare.. like you pushed in a clutch, rhen shifted and slid clutch back really slow
then drive to reverse long wait .....
Reverse to drive....wait wait wait
Then started the 1 to 5 jump gears
They updated and did a break in procedure
The flare went away as did drive to reverse
But on test drive it lost 8th and above
and slowly down dropped into 3rd skidded tires..repeatedly
Valve body change
Made it worse.
Finally ford replaced assembly

Was your part of the service bulletin? Mine was built on 9/15, so it's in the window, but like you I have the 10R140, not the 10R100 they mentioned in the bulletin. Aside from some kind of hard reverse to drive that started recently (could be warmer weather and not starting with a very cold transmission) I haven't noticed anything, certainly not what you went through in your thread. I guess I could ask the if its in that list of trucks or not.

I only have the flare between 3rd and 4th. Luckily not all the other issues you had. If I get on the truck above 2,000 rpm it shifts perfectly. Keep it around 1,500 and it does it. Also has to be a warm transmission too, cold shifts perfectly at all rpm.
One thing threads like this have me doing is carefully monitoring all the mechanical aspects of my truck for weird operation and strange noises So far so good. Only thing so far is the crappy Duratrac tires but they have been getting better.
Are you saying a new transmission or just a new transmission cooler?
the entire shooting match cooler, transmission and associated one time use hardware under the truck
took tech 6 days to remove and replace and all that, but 28 days sitting at a dealer waiting on ford
I have a 23 6.7 and also experience the 3-4 flare . But it’s not all the time and varies when it happens. Not going to the dealer yet unless it becomes more consistent. Doesn’t seem to happen while towing. Mostly when un loaded and light throttle . Hopefully a real fix comes up

I have a 23 6.7 and have the same symptoms as you.

My '23 with the 445ci has always had the 3-4 lag, it's particularly pronounced when it's cold, but will also do it when it's hot after it's been sitting a bit, for the first shift or two.. almost like the oil galley has drained out and has to be reprimed, again, after every stop. (That is probably an incorrect phrase, but I don't really understand how automatic transmissions work.) Because I'm in and out of my truck all day, making stops, it happens to me a LOT. The good news is, beyond that, I have very few other problems. The 'hunt and peck' or 'getting lost' driving quickly in town has pretty much disappeared. Everything else seems to be working well enough. However, I know enough about automatic transmissions to know that everything is working great... until it isn't.
FWIW, I reported the 3-4 lag to Ford when I had my truck in for another repair. Supposedly, they fixed or rebuilt the valve body... but there was no fluid, no gasket, no other anything on the WO, and my clever eyes didn't see any tool marks on my pan bolts... so I would bet even money the tech didn't do a thing to my transmission except pocket the money for the labor.

21 f-450. Had same weird shifts and brought to dealer around 13k miles. Dealer said trans is toast and needs rebuild. 3 clutch packs are burnt. Decided to replace whole trans which I question as it was in 2022 when things were in short supply and I too didn't see marks on certain bolts (cross member, etc). Picked up truck and few hundred miles later it seems to have same issues. Now at 45k miles it seems to have gotten more pronounced (more vibration and chatter on slow shifts from my guess burnt clutch packs) but truck hasn't left me stranded.
Fast forward to now I have a 25 F-350 Tremor coming next week and hope the current problem will be someone else's problem, and the new truck doesn't have same transmission issues. Having spent some tuning PCM and TCM's I believe its poor tuning tables causing slow shifts burning out the clutch packs, and hope the 25's have better tuning or I'm jumping back to Ram HD with ZF.
