I’m curious if any of you have had any luck adding power steering to your trucks while retaining your 3 speed steering column. I’m seeing that these CPP power steering conversion kits are adamant that you can’t retain this column with their conversion. Is this true? If so, is anyone aware or a box that would work? Maybe with the old Toyota box swap that everyone was doing prior? I don’t really want to get rid of the stock front axle either if I can avoid it. I think it would take a lot of the charm out of the truck. I saw an example of this in a truck for sale on bring a trailer but the auction ended last month and I am unable to get a hold of the guy that posted the ad. As always, any and all help is greatly appreciated.
IIRC, back when that 4WD Toyota box swap was in vogue, CPP used to offer a coupling sleeve to use with a cut off steering shaft and a stock column. Sorry I don't remember more. Perhaps you can find an old CPP catalog to verify.

I don’t know about the CPP sleeve, but did a ps upgrade in my fj40. Matched the splines on the box input and “machined”a DD mating surface in the existing shaft from the column. Pretty simple. The ujoints are available from multiple vendors/manufacturers.
