2024 configuration.
I know alot of folks love the 3.5L turbo 6, but for me I am a custom to V8s and have a fair bit of experience working with them. Also with some simple upgrades If decide to add on I can really improve performance of the 5.0 and have no exp with the 3.5.
All that said in my area no dealership has been able to find the 5.0 with a 6.5 bed. They have put together a really good deal on a 5.0l with 5.5 box. Or a 3.5L with a 6.5 box. I had hoped to be able to put 2 round bales in the 6.5 but after some consideration I am afraid it may not be great to put two rounds with the tail gate down. I have a float trailer which I figure I would use to bring hay home most of the time anyway. Also if I just need a few bales I have a older Ford that I can haul 4 time.
The idea was if we were already in town I could grab
2 bales with the 6.5. Before I make my decision does anyone have experience hauling hay with the tail gate down. Any issues or damage caused by driving with it down.
