Injector rebuild kit
Hello, first post.
Looking for links and part numbers for injector rebuild.
Had the truck for about 5 months and it's developed a miss and it's down on power especially at lower rpm 1500ish
Had a diagnosis and told us that 5 and 8 injectors were not performing , didn't want to buy new ones unless totally required.
Is there a kit for a 460 with screen filters so we can clean and rebuild the existing ones
Also told there is a vacuum leak at EGR. I'm guessing we just have to replace it.?
From what I've read about parts everyone is mostly recommending motorcraft, but are there less expensive parts that are quality available?
It's a 96 f250, 460 manual with under 1000 on rebuilt engine. New computer, load of other new parts.
The mechanic could not get any communication from the obd1 port, so I'm trying to go thru process of elimination.
We changed plugs, cap and rotor and it does run better, but still popping off at idle and smells really rich. Plug 1 and 8 were slightly fouled and Carboned up, the rest looked perfect.
If you give it gas it seems almost full power, just under high torque low rpm the power is really lacking and the great shifter vibrates a lot under these low rpm pulls.

Send them to a pro shop. RC, InjectorRx, Cruzin, etc etc
A home 'rebuild' is just orings and a screen, unless you can pulse them and ultrasonic clean them you are tossing money away.
The miss could be other issues too. Yet, fresh injectors on a 30 year old truck never hurt. I have had early 00s vehicles done and the flow numbers as well as patterns were all over the place pre service.

If it's just gas residue, Seafoam or a Techron cleaner can help. I'd try this first, but if they've never been touched, then a rebuild is probably due anyway.

What “new computer” did you get and why was the old one replaced? Why was there a “load of other new parts?”
Um… that’s not good. Is the computer working or is there something wrong with the test port?
