Hi Gang, I have a '22 f-350 6.2, reg cab, srw, f-350. recieved in spring '23. 9.5 V plow, 2.2 yard sander in back. Plowing this winter and all was well... Recently I realized the truck is starting off from reversing into 2nd gear, starting a push underpowered then shifting to third and basically running out of power bogging under the load... and unless your putting the pedal down substantially, it doesn't want to downshift back to 2nd... when it does, it goes back to first... leaving you overpowered and spinning out in the middle of a push... The back and forth of clearing a parking lot, I notice it sometimes goes to 1st, other times 2nd... thinking perhaps I'm not coming to a full stop between directions, I made sure I was stopped before shifting... still many times 2nd was the starting gear. I have tried in all different driving mode's and it still does it... and the next time it won't.. Once started forward in 2nd, I have shifted to neutral and back into drive, it then goes into first gear..... another point to bring up, is the truck just seems lazy out on the highway, not having any zip, it just doesn't want to respond when kicking it down to accelerate, and seems to just want to lumber along in which ever gear it has found..... I brought it up with my dealership service, who said disconnect the batteries for a night to reset the adaptive learning... I used a pretty high quality scanner to go in and shut it off..... which seemed to correct it. but an hour later I was back to the 2nd gear starts. It is going in to the dealer at some point, we have just been to busy and need the truck... Wondering if others have encountered this when plowing???
Thanks
A 10spd transmission is a terrible idea when using a truck to plow. The trans has an adaptive learning and when you areploqing and only using 1-3rd gear then want to drive it at full speed on the interstate or even through town I would expect it ro have issues. It won't ever know what you are asking of it.
