I placed an order for a 2025 Ranger Lariat with my long time Ford dealer on Dec 3,2024 and received the email from Ford the same day acknowledging the order and saying that they would contact me in 45 days with the status.
On Jan 17 another email from Ford saying they were working on a scheduled build date and would contact me in 45 days.
On Mar 4 another email from Ford saying they were "still working on your scheduled build date" and would contact me in 45 days. That would put the next email around Apr 18.
From what I've been able to find, in the first week of March Ford is scheduling for May build dates. That seems to indicate that I'm looking at a scheduled build date of MAYBE June / July with production and shipping running into August / September.
I'm giving serious thought to going back to my dealer, getting my deposit back and going with something not from Ford. Has anyone had any similar experiences with ordering from Ford recently?
I'm going to wait it out for one or two more 45 day cycles and then get my deposit back and decide if I want to keep what I have ('17 F150 Lariat) or shop elsewhere. Luckily, I'm not under any real pressure to replace my current truck other than the fact that it will need tires.
My dealer still has a bunch of 2024 Ranger XL's he can't sell and, apparently, no dealership orders for 2025's.
Well, I received an email from Ford today (March 14) telling me that my truck is on the schedule to be assembled the week of May 12th. Of course, I have to be aware "that that schedule may change". I'd be surprised at this point if it didn't. I guess my best case is delivery some time in June. Six months to build a truck. Pathetic!
I'm new to this site, but here has been my experience thus far. I ordered a 2025 Ranger Lariat 2.7 fairly loaded on 10-April-25. Within two weeks, on 25-April, Ford sent the production date of 02-June-2025. Checking a couple of times since then it still shows 02-June. My dealer gave me a nice price with employee discount, no deposit required. The spray in bed liner was deleted from my order and will be done locally by the dealer as they said if done at the factory it could cause delays. It's been a pleasant experience - so far.
5 months waiting is making me think twice about ordering a f250, last new one before covid took a month order to delivery ,
My advice would be to get on your computer, find all the Ford dealerships in your area of the country and check each one to see if anyone has a truck ON THE LOT that is substantially what you're looking for. Also, don't fall for the "In Plant" listings on dealer's web sites.
Personally, I will NEVER order another Ford vehicle.

Ford needs to learn that the Ranger isn't the only excellent choice for a midsized truck.

I have to wonder how Ford or anyone else can make that statement with a straight face. I've looked at all the Ford dealerships within a 25 mile radius and here's what I've found:
Most, but not all, of them have 2024's sitting on the lot. Mostly XT's. Looking at the window stickers, most were built over one year ago.
The few dealers that have 2025's have mostly XT's. There are a few XLT's and one or two Lariats. Raptors seem to be generally available.
At least 50% of the dealers have NO Rangers and apparently no allocation for any.
They all have tons of Explorers and F150's.
It's actually hysterical that Ford claims on their web site that the Ranger is "2025 North American Truck of the Year".
I just did the same thing, checked in my 25 mile radius to see in stock 2025 Rangers. There are twelve. 10 XLTs, 1 Lariat, 1 Tremor. My production date is 9 days away so I'll know shortly if it goes in as promised. I know that the Lariat just came in because its at the dealership I ordered mine from and as of last week it wasn't there.
Maybe things have turned around at Ford. So far my my Ranger build order is ahead of schedule.
Order confirmation 04/10/2025
Scheduled production 06/02/2025
In Production 05/27/2025 - as of today
Hope everyone else that has an order in is experiencing the same.
Latest update: Ford Tracker showed a "Production date" of 02-June. It has shown "In Production" since 27-May. The Tracker seems to only be updated once a week, however "In Production" for two weeks so far.
