I’m thinking to buy used or new. Will be replacing a 2014 F250 with the 6.2 gas engine. Love the engine. I use the truck to tow 10,000lb horse trailer and 6,000 camper in the mountains.

what is the newer gas engine like? Any pro con? Any years to avoid between 2014 and 2024/5?

Id love to find a truck without a sunroof. But I know beggars can’t be choosers.

I would suggest you to test drive both 6.8L and 7.3L and compare. 6.8L are found in lower trim and can be appealing with lower cost. I’m impressed with my 7.3L but never tried the 6.8L. I did test drive the nearly new 2019 (30k miles on odometer) previous generation 6.2L/6 speed and the newer generation 2023 7.3L with 10 speed transmission. The 2019 was nice but it’s no comparison with newer generation as it runs nicer and smoother as it’s a big factor knowing it’ll also be my daily driver along with occasional towing rig for my travel trailer. After that test drive, I placed an order for the new one (without the sunroof). 😊
