The stock jack is secured behind the seat with a thumb wing bolt. The bolt goes through the base of the jack. I only see a hole in the base on the far left but it doesn't look like the correct jack to me. Do the other jacks have holes in the base?
I believe its the middle is most like the one for the F1 truck. Try Lyn Stacy from EFV8 club he restores and sells complete kits. He's also the tool guru for the club and can give you advice.
I have that jack in the second picture keep it in my 51. Not sure where I got it.
truth be told so do I.. and it fits in the same spot as a smaller one , looks a lot cooler and probably would support a lot more weight. Shh don’t tell those pesky concours judges.
What are your guys thoughts about how the jack and tools were stored in the cab? For 53-56, while the hole on the jack stand was still there, the jack was not secured by this means - there is no receiving hole/bolt for the wing nut on the floor of the cab. Do you think a sort of bag as pictured above was part of the standard issue as well?

Vinyl bags were definitely part of the kit in 48-52. Probably even before. Sewn from leftover seat material. I’d suspect that the later trucks had different perhaps less elaborate kits, but I’m only guessing.
Those kits pictured were made by Lindley Stacey in Chicago a few years ago. Google him on Ford Barn. He’d know for certain what, where and when. I hope Lyn is still around doing them? He’s definitely knows more than you’d ever want to about Ford Tools! The kits come with a complete list of parts numbers and list of substitute manufacturers. Just amazing detail.

Even though I am the second owner of my 54, tools and jacks and jack handles can and do go missing in farm trucks. The only thing behind or under the seat of my 54 was a Grote reflector flare set and a tool like below that does not have a Ford part number nor the word FORD anywhere on it.
In the 55 F350 however I found all these tools behind the seat.
It looks like the F350 jack is bigger than the otherbottle jacks I have seen. The F350 jack base measures 4" x 5". Other jacks I have are 4x4.

The bag/tools were available for 1953 until supply ran out. There is a "product bulletin" issued for this. I just read it last week going thru my bulletins

Good to know! Thanks Kevin.
Is that the same deal with heaters? A lot of 53's I've seen have heaters I've seen in 52 and older trucks. Some I have seen have the recirculating heater like mine. Did Ford use up the old heaters before they shifted to the recirculating heater like the one in my 54?
A lot of the heaters were dealer installed, and they would grab whatever they had in the parts department and install it. Similarly, many of the earlier Bonus Builts might have an even earlier heater if that's what they had in stock.
