the next thing I would do is focus on all those crimped butt connectors! geez, sorry someone did that to your truck.
agreed! If the new sockets don’t fix it that is the next item to address. I check the wires for continuity of color across all the crimp connections, though that doesn’t mean continuity of actual voltage. If I go that route I’ll be soldering and heat shrinking the connections or re-pinning the ends and going directly into the clip end. Both are quite a chore.
starting to wonder if a new harness wouldn’t be less fuss in the long run.

since he had an automatic, that jumper will cause the reverse lights to be on all the time, if all other wiring and sockets are good.
I fought this in my 78 bronco. After replacing the sockets, my reverse was on all times that the key was on. I found that the PO had installed this jumper. After removing it. My reverse lights work as the should.
New tester came in and I immediately got under and checked power to the flasher. No power on orange/yellow per the section below. So now I’m on the hunt for the short or disconnect before that.
all the diagrams I’ve found say to go to the but as you can see it’s an empty slot.

Forgot to mention the double check to see if some previous owner hand wired in a four or seven point trailer plug back there, that can usually cause problems.

someone did wire something in at one point, but it’s all disconnected now. Looks like just two spices into the wires…
I was able to get partial activation of the turn signals by jumping power to the flasher under the dash.
grounded with no power supplied
PO did install LED sidemarkers but I don’t suspect those since they function when the running lights are on and with the hazards.

Correct, that slot is empty...the backup lamps, turns signals and washer pump are on the fuse two spaces to the right of the one you have circled...I assume you checked that first? :-)
Made some headway, cleaned the contacts again on the fuse block and lo and behold I got power to the flasher under the dash.
also that fixed the reverse lights so one down one to go.
now when I activate the turn signal I get no light on the dash or at the lamps but I can hear the flasher click one time when I flip the flasher back off.

Some context on that, the red and green coincides with the tester I have. Sometimes it lights up red with positive and green with grounds I need to look at the documentation for it.
I'm following the troubleshooting guide but I'm missing page 31-42-3.
im trying to determine if the turn signal switch is faulty or not.
Everyone’s input has been fantastic and very helpful thank you all for the assistance this far!

thank you! I missed that and it helped me to recheck the clean up I did. Apparently I did not do a good job cleaning the contacts on the fuse block.
also does anyone have any knowledge on the wire readings I took ? They were taken at the turn, signal switch with the environment factors listed above each of them.
I don't have all the colors memorized...and you have at least one duplicate scenario with different voltage readings...have you tried going through the troubleshooting guide that Rich provided now that you have a meter? it should get you to an answer fairly quicly...

I’m working through that now, my issue is I’m not sure what I’m looking for.
I bought a few new flashers but they are all bad but one. The only one I haven’t plugged in. My concern is something is blowing them. 🤷♂️
with the key in the off position and the running lights or lights activated I get a right turn signal illuminated on the instrument cluster. My new sockets come tomorrow I think I’m calling it a day till I have those too swap in.
