Front shock lower nut and bolt replacement? (Pic)

Was told that I need to replace the lower bolt on the front shock when I replace the shocks, do I also need to replace the nut? HM1 in the attachment

Curious who told you? I’ve never replaced them on any of my trucks through the years. Never had a problem.

Whoever inspected it must have found wear on the bolt. As to the nut, and a close up of the part HM1 it shows it has a nylon lock collar…..those are typically a one time use to lock the bolt from backing off.

I replaced the shocks, didn't find it necessary to replace the bolts. On the front I had them so I did, dealer didn't have the rear so I reused the original.
I did replace all the nuts, not sure if the rear needed replacing but the fronts had nylon (or something) and felt it definitely needed to be replaced.

Thanks for the info. Have new shocks to replace the originals but have not... had no idea on those front shock bolt nuts.
