Good running 351M value
Good running 351M for sale. It has a 4 x 4 pan that vi need . He wants me to make a fair offer.
I’m not up to date on prices.
if I get it I may put it in my project truck while I build the 400 the way I want it.

Well some say 351M is a boat anchor and not worth its weight at the scrap yard. Some say run it, bad to no oil pressure is common, some say is does not need any oil pressure it is a 351M. Is it complete.... top of air filter to oil pan, fan to flywheel? Does it come with the correct fly wheel for a trans change?
If you have or can hear it run, see the oil pressure gauge (and it has good pressure at idle), then sure toss out a $500 offer for a runner w/oil pressure that it is drop in and go motor...for sure $500. Some say to much, some will say low baller.
He is selling it, you are trying to buy it right? It is the ol game of "he is selling it for as much as he can get and you are trying to buy it for the least amount as possible". Since it is HIS motor... let him price it to you. He is the seller right? If he says make me an fair offer.... offer 100 bucks, I mean a price, SOME price has to start some where, and that offer ought to get him going or that might be a "ok deal, lets load it up".

I’ve rode in his truck while this motor was in it.
been on a couple parts runs with him.
it’s no longer in the truck. He had a 400 built for his truck.
my reason for asking about this was strictly for the 4x4 oil pan.
his idea to sell the whole motor.
he says he’ll give me a price by this coming weekend. Says he wants it gone and it will be cheap.

after seeing the prices on a new pan I think that would be a fair deal even if the motor turned out junk.
I’m still in need of a hood and maybe a passenger door. I’m off the next couple days so I’ll be working on them in the shop.
