engine hesitation
engine hesitation
My 2004+ crew cab, dually, short bed has been upgraded to a Banks system with tuner, air upgrade, head bolt replacement, blue spring all before I bought it with 60,000 miles. It is now at 110,000 and on a trip to Las Vegas from Oregon, we noticed a recurring hesitation at speed. Changing the tune did not alter the events, nor did slowing down to the speed limit. I thought that it might be the accelerator but yesterday at minus 10F I was sitting in a parking lot and the "engine load" was steady at 8%. Until every 12 seconds the engine would hickup and the E Load would jump to 11%. It would drop right back down to 8% for another 12 seconds. Repeated ad nasaium (sp). Has anyone seen this type of behavour?
Thanks

I had something very similar occur once in my 2005. At idle all was normal. Under acceleration there was an identical scenario like you described. At the time I was having issues with my cluster, it was pretty much dead including the fuel gauge. On my monitor I was watching all the pertinent meters fluctuating rhythmically with RPM, basically as you described. No CEL no codes, just weird. My issues resolved when I shut down and restarted. I never had that issue again. The cluster has since been replaced.
Unfortunately this was more informational, I don’t have any advice as far as how to resolve or why mine did what it did. It hasn’t happened since.
