They are selling exaust brakes on e-bay that you can get for 75.00??? They hook up to the EBV valve . Do they work? Are they worth the money? If so does my 97 powerstroke have a EBV valve ? Thanks guys
I found my SP Brake and bought it on Ebay. I got the plug and play kit for it. It works pretty good. The module includes at auto lock feature if you have an auto trans. I have a manual. Also my truck is a 2000 not sure about a 97 you might ask if thier products work on a 97. I've been happy with it.
The EBV as an exhaust brake doesn't hurt anything does it? hard on motor? I too have thought about doing this but wanted some feedback--sometimes my 8000# truck plus 14-15000# behind it can be a little difficult to stop on hills.
No.....Don't see how it could hurt anything. It's using OEM eqipment for it's intended pourpose. EBV. I've got a gooseck horse trailer so far I've had 2 horses in it. Don't know how much all that weighs but the EBV helps when slowing down for a stop and espcially coming off the mountain. What the "Diablo Acumultor Valve"?

The Diablo Accumulator Valve firms up your shift in your automatic transmission by keeping line pressure higher at all times so it shifts more predictably, and with a lot more decisiveness. Feels very stocklike at light throttle but when you get on it, especially pulling a trailer, it shifts very quickly to reduce heat buildup and slippage in the transmission. Basically it corrects a mechanical problem that has been in the trans forever but Ford tries to fix with electronics. I love it, possibly the best 45 dollar (shipped) performance piece I have ever messed with! I ordered the FIRM SHIFT model, there is also a hard shift. Best thing about getting it is that Ken will always be willing to help you getting it together if you have questions. When I opened the valve body and released the retainer clip, the whole valve, springs, everything came flying out. After locating the pieces I had no clue how they went back in because I never saw how they came out. I called Ken and 10 minutes later it was all straightened out. Top notch customer service! Took me 2 hours start to finish to put it in, very simple, comes with full instructions and requires hardly any tools...
