Ford slipped in and nailed me with an OTA SYNC 4 update. Revision 24127 Thought I had my auto updates turned off, but I guess I didn't. Now the SYNC screen displays the settings screen every time the truck is started, regardless of where you left off last - in my case the AUDIO screen.
The F150 forums have discussed this issue, but with no resolution.
Has anybody here figured out a workaround? Would love to be able to do a downgrade. Maybe a Master Reset?

my f150 had that apim update and unreal engine ensbled.. zero issues
In fact my truck in the shop...has been trying to do the ota update.
Do a apim reset via forscan
Key on, ...let it boot.
key off. Open driver door let it completely shut down
May do that 2 times
but the release was stable ,not sure where you read the issue. 14genf150 forum is place to go..
you are talking about the center stack screen correct. Not ipc
Ipc will go back to my view adter a few days. Its sort of a way to let you know an update happened
not sure why you turned off updates
That only creates issues later when you need one and they are all back logged in que and csnt clear
My 22 f150 had updates and they worked, plus it had superduty updates for split screen trailer etc
Good luck

Because Ford is just like Apple... every time there is an update, it screws stuff up. Or they sneak in more 'we're watching you' stuff.

I forced a APIM reset with Forscan, did a soft reset with the buttons, open & closed the door multiple times while cycling the ignition. Same SETTINGS screen on startup. Did a master reset and ,(knock on wood) so far so good. I think it's BS Ford will release these updates when they are having issues like this. On my sync 3 system, at least you were able to downgrade using older software versions & a USB drive.

My instrument cluster is fine. It always stays where i leave it - in my case TRIP 1.

so the center stack defaults to settings?
I hate to ask...but did you line by line settings and see if an item needs attention?
Like 911,or something
Thanks

I cruised through the settings quickly. Didn't see anything that caught my eye as out of the ordinary.
This is a well-known issue following a Sync 4 update and there are several threads here about it (and I've griped about it in almost all of them... what's one more?). Only thing I've found that cures the issue is a master reset. But say goodbye to your radio stations, saved waypoints, and other settings. It is utterly ridiculous that Ford cannot push a Sync 4 update that doesn't break something else.

What's easy for you, might be a royal pain in the keister for someone else. Some folks use Sync 4 for something other than just connecting their phone. Maybe even navigation (gasp!), or, God forbid, SiriusXM (18 channel pre-sets). The horror!

it's never easy to loose one station
Nav even in reset, often finds your places are still starred, if not in recent.
But it's no guaruntee

The problem is... Sync is so buggy, I don't trust it for anything other than, as you say, connecting my phone. My iPhone seems far more capable and user friendly than the Sync system... and that's saying something.
