Hey guys,
I have a 2003 Excursion that I wrecked with a deer. I want to put the V10 in something else. I'm thinking about picking up a 2008-2010 Super Duty with a blown V10, and putting my 2003 V10 in. My question is, how different are the two engines? I know 2003 is a 2 valve and 2010 is a 3 valve, but are there any big differences that would overly complicate a swap like this? I believe the 2 valve will still bolt up to the 5R110 found in the 2008-2010. Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks!
The Ford V10 was Ok, but not worth the effort to swap into anything else. And there is practically zero aftermarket support for it.
I get that you already own it and want to use it for something, but you'd be time, frustration and money ahead to either sell it, or use it as a boat anchor (or maybe a cool coffee table) rather than trying to swap it into another vehicle that didn't originally come with the same v10.
