I've 3D printed lots of ***** for my 52 F1. I design them with Fusion 360. I coat them with body filler and sand them smooth before painting them. Attached are picture of my OD handle - the design, some variation I tried and the final install a few years ago. I've since made a nicer one.

looks good, when I pop the ***** out of the molds they are done. No bench work getting them to the finish stage. For me this was the best way

Of course molds are the easiest way if you have an original to copy. In my case I didn't have an original handle and I couldn't even find a picture of one in an F1 so I had to design it from scratch. I had the same problem with the cigarette lighter ****.
