Fuel lines
Ive got 2 questions regarding the fuel system in this truck.
1. Ive got the fuel tank behind the seat and the tank under the bed of the truck. Ive been suggested to get rid of the tank behind the seat as a safety precaution... It would make it easier to do the install but what are your suggestions
2. Old fuel lines had seen better days and half of it was rubber hose. I want do to a good job at this but I dont know the best route to go. Rubber hose is ofcourse cheap and easy but I wouldnt mind something cleaner. Is there an easy way to do stainless steel lines? Or should I go stainless flex lines? Very open to ideas
Thanks!
What is the safety issue of it staying? If the sender gasket and the rubber filler hose do not leak then what's the deal?
For the line(s) figure when size the old metal line is and get a coil of ALUM. line the same size. You can get it thru Summit Racing.
Also pick up a small tubing cutter from a hardware store, makes for a nice clean cut.
I ran ALUM line on a project car from rear to front, like 20 feet!
I used the old rusty metal line as a pattern. Every few feet I would bend the ALUM. line and use wire ties to hold it in place and moved down the line bend, tie, etc.
Worked pretty good and only had to make a little change to make it fit where the metal line was run. Because it was the same size line the factory holders worked too.
