The other day I nearly hit a deer as a pair ran across the road, so I locked that video. I have a Wolfbox G840S that mounts to the mirror and is hardwired with a rear camera. Well I took it off the mirror this morning to show my co workers the incident and found the screen has a crack in it. I plugged it in using the USB-C power and screen does act funny depending on how the mirror is held. I was able to view and show them the incident where it looks like I had actually hit them, but surprisingly enough was able to slow down enough that I missed. I sent an email in for support and got an answer right away asking for a video showing the problem. When I took it the video I was watching earlier would only play the expanded upper left portion. Nothing I did would shrink back to fit to screen. I think its no longer in warranty, so screwed. I put it back on the mirror in the truck, no screen response at all but still recording, so not a total loss.
Depending on their answer, I may have to replace it and don't want another mirror replacement one even though the video is excellent quality. I need one that uses USB C and can work with my existing rear camera and GPS if needed.
I am year 3 with my thinkware u1000 series
it was moved over from my previous truck
it sticks to windshield.
speaking of deer
My aeb, Collision stuff
momentarily slowed my truck just enough for Bambi to clear the front and continue on its way
I will see if I can find the video
You can just see nose dip, then speed back up
Well, turns out Wolfbox support is hands down GREAT! Even though it is out of warranty, they want to know why it cracked so they are sending me a refurb and I will send mine back. Since the thing is back in place and working, I am not going to touch it until the replacement arrives, then I will upload the saved videos, since I will have to reformat the card for the replacement. When watching the video, everyone says how did you MISS???
