I've been chasing a "miss" on my 95 and I found the problem. Both pushrods on #4 are bent. Never used ether before. What are the chances I didn't do any further damage?
I would check the other pushrods to make sure you found all of the bent ones. Check the rocker arms for damage, install new ones, and give it a go
I’ll replace them all since I have both valve covers off. Should I do anything like pushing the lifters in or tapping the top of the valves with a rubber mallet to make sure they’re not stuck?
Got a set of Smith Brother's rods on the way. I need to upgrade the springs but I really don't want to mess with those with the engine in place, so I'll have some back up rockers and push rods on hand just in case.
Got the new pushrods in and everything back together. I think it further damage. Has a slight miss at idle and blue haze out the exhaust even when running. Used AE and did a cylinder contribution test, and when it tests #4, the one that bent the rods, almost no change.
I think I’ll do a compression test next. What’s the best way to determine rings vs. valve damage?
