The truck had this code in the past with no engine symptoms, and I replaced with an OEM ICP sensor and wiring harness. I have replaced the EGR sensor, AC Compressor/condensor and recently the radiator, which I believe blew because my son overfilled the DEGAS and while towing a boat over a steep grade, exploded on him. Was still getting the code intermittently with no symptoms and truck seemed to start and run fine. In the last couple weeks, when the truck is started it seems to rev up the RPM's briefly but then runs normally. Occasionally when driving it seems to lose power slightly and makes a hissing noise...this lasts for a second and then returns to normal. I've seen others with no start issues, but mine starts and runs but now has these symptoms of revving on start and losing power for a second while driving. I took it to a tech who said, it looks like a crapshoot...HPOP, IPR, ICP sensor again, or possibly something else...but he wouldn't know until he got into it. He actually referred me to a Ford diesel guy he does work with.
Just wondering if anyone else has had similar symptoms or suggestions. I will do the work myself, as I have done in the past...just wondering where to possibly start. Just bite the bullet and do the HPOP and the IPR in one shot? I have a scangauge hooked up to it and can check for whatever is suggested, but based on past posts here are some numbers:
koeo - ICP - 25; IPR - 14.8
Starting the engine, but did not experience the engine revving- ICP - 152-1000, leveling off in the 850 range; IPR - 15-30
Starting the engine and did get the engine rev - ICP - went to 852; IPR - jumped to 80 and leveled off at 31.2
Running at idle - ICP - 830 ; IPR 31.2
While driving (no symptoms) - ICP - 1200 at constant speed, while accelerating fluctuates between 620 and 1400 and then levels out to 1200 at 35mph; IPR - while accelerating holds steady at 84.9, then levels out at approximately 45 depending on speed.
