Secondly, the only aftermarket throttle body what might work on your truck would be one from a 97 and up 3.8 Mustang. Again, I'm not real sure it would work, but that would probably be your only option.
Unless...
Now you've got me thinking. Would a throttle body off of a 4.6 or 5.4 fit on our 4.2's? I doubt it, but what do you guys think? If that would work, I'd actually be interested.
I think Strick88 is running a 70mm mass air flow sensor, not a throttle body, but I could be wrong,I have been that way before.Come to think of it I've been that way a lot lately, stick around and I'll be that way again.
I found a post that says a member by the name of fastf150 is running a BBK twin 61mm throttlebody.I'm sorry I don't remember what page or thread, but I will check out BBK and find out.
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most.
It's on page 8 , the 3rd posting ,just read down the thread and the pictures, and fastf150 has a description of his mods. However he is running a supercharger, that may have something to do with it.
Oh ok, a supercharger, well he would have a different intake all together then. I don't think I want to go that route though. I'd have to toss my Airaid and get something else just to fit it. I'd prefer to stick with the larger diameter single intake.
Actually Tom, I can keep my Volant intake on if I want. The kit I have keeps the air filter in its stock location. Also, at need-4-speed in FL, you can get a BBK 70mm Throttle Body(1997-2003) for the 4.2
On a side note ~ Tom, you should check these guys out. Im not sure where you are located in relation to them, but local pick up is a GREAT thing sometimes. Also have sine very competitive prices on other things. I talked with MrBean about it last night via AoL AIM.
Garrett - PS I dont have a larger TB, only the Spacer!
