2017/5.0 All of a sudden I have a problem when at startup the idle will shoot up to 2300 RPM, hang there a few seconds, then slowly drop down.
The usual would be that it goes up to 1200/1300 RPM. Outside temp has been in the 20/30s .First start while cold. Is there a sensor dirty/going bad ?
This freaks me out when it jumps up like that and you know the engine is cold and all of the oil is in the pan. Thanks.
My '17 does the exact same thing. AFA all the oil being in the pan, it's never going to happen. There is always a film of oil on the rotating parts inside the motor, even when it's been sitting for a while. If you have doubts, get ahold of a junkyard motor and tear it down to see how much oil is still in the rotating assembly. It's a lot more than you think.

I had a dirt bike that did that. The culprit was a cracked intake boot causing an air leak. Maybe start looking for something along those lines.
