Going to service trans and transfer case again. My retired brain couldn't remember, so I did a little searching for the proper torque values. The older threads seem divided on whether you need thread sealant on the transfer case drain or not. So, whats the latest recommendation from you experts, teflon sealant or no? Also, use on the diff fill plug too?

They make a special non-hardening thread sealant specifically for oil and gas. Its called gasoila , its available at tractor supply back by where the farm fuel tanks and pumps are, or you can get it from amazon (probably a host of other places online too). I use it on all my NPT threaded oil fittings or plugs, works fanatically well.
Just a little warning. I used Teflon tape on a GM transfer case many years ago and I got too crazy on the torque and cracked the case. Be careful and use the right torque!
