A few minutes after my truck (2018 SCAB Raptor) is warmed up and I accelerate from a stop I get a "Trailer Connected" Alert on the dash. When I brake I get the "Trailer Disconnected" alert. Back and forth. Da-ding, da-ding, da-ding. Makes me want to jerk the wheel into oncoming traffic. Seems worse when the temp is above freezing. Sometimes a "Trailer right turn lamps fault, check lamps" alert pops up. Same alert for left lamps too, usually one after the other. Sometimes the trailer blind spot fault pops up too, but I forget the actual alert phrasing. I checked the plug in the bumper and even cleaned it out with some good contact cleaner. Still does it. Unplugged the harness from the bumper connector and taped it off. Still does it. Those 2 connections look good and brand new, no signs of corrosion. Not sure where to check next. I know there is a TSB for this, but dealer wants $200 to diagnose and my truck is out of warranty. Any advice?
Sometimes it's corrosion on the plug itself. If you look in there and see any corrosion, spray some gun barrel cleaner or WD40 in there and use a bore brush to clean around the inside of the plug.
