Strange issue after putting my transmission back in. When I put in manual 2nd it shows 1st on my edge cts3. Likewise if I put in 1st it shows 2nd. What could cause this ? I did do wire repairs while I had transmission removed but I did them 1 at a time so pretty certain all wires were correct. I have a spare solenoid but don’t wanna swap unless it’s most likely cause. It’s also having difficulty shifting into 2nd driving ( have to let off fuel for shift to engage 2nd ) but assuming it’s a separate issue. Thanks for any input.
What is this "it" that you are referring to? What parameter is showing these numbers?
If I’m understanding your question.
when I place shift lever at steering wheel into manual 2 my cts3 displays 1. Similarly 1 will display 2 on cts3. When in drive all gears display correctly on cts3.
Took it for a drive and when I put gear selector at steering in either manual 2nd or 1st it seems to be in 2nd. No change when I move selector from 1 to 2 or vice versa. Went just fast enough to have transmission move to 3rd in D and clearly downshifts when I move to either manual position (1 or 2). Then upshifts to 3rd when back in D.
would this be an issue with the 1-2 manual valve in upper portion of main valve body ?
I also still don’t understand why it shows opposite manual gear on my CTS display. It’s always been accurate before. And again it’s accurately showing gear it’s in while in D and accurately shows P R and N.

This is exactly what happens when there is no power to the shift solenoids. You need to check for +12v on the connector on the passenger's side of the transmission.

Very unlikely.
