My new grocery getting has the 2kw generator
which when engaged, bumps rpm to around 900
and I assume higher if you pull closer to 20 amps
so sort of built in seic, without having to buy a kit or resistors???
I have not had a chance to do much...it's supposed to be back from shop next week
Robert, what will you be running with the additional pro power outlet? I was going to have a Milwaukee M18/12 tool charger and a California Air Tools 4620 ultra quiet compressor. Next detach the compressor from the tanks and relocate the compressor into the tool box (thus the need for pro power outlet) and the tanks under the truck. All aluminum tanks so no rust.

I liked not having to wire an inverter up. So far I've used mine for my Milwaukee chargers which stay plugged in in the back floor board, a torpedo heater and our jobsite microwave(1100w)

Ah the torpedo heater.....I did that yesterday for two hours melting ice/ground to get some work done and no power within 200 feet.
Haven't had to charge anything yet via truck, have been fortunate to have power in the locations I was working when a battery got weak. I have noticed they aren't lasting as long with this cold (to be expected), and I keep them in the garage each night charging.....I don't like the battery dance when you're down one and have considered the backseat charge method as well.
Used a miter saw once, wasn't dragging out cords and saw horses for 2 cuts.
I was crawling around under the bed.
the wires for the outlet...seem to be exsposed.
wonder why the entire 120 volt wires are not protected at the connection
