3rd Brake light leaking (again)

Does anyone recommend a certain type of silicone to use around the gasket of the light? I searched today and many had adhesives in them I’m afraid that will permanently attach the gasket to the paint. Then if it does leak again I won’t be able to get the gasket off without scraping it which would destroy the paint. if I use a clear interior/exterior window kitchen/bath silicone will it last long enough ? Should I put whatever silicone I use on both sides the gasket or just put a big bead around the whole outside of the light? and the screw holes before putting in the screws.

The best thing to do is go to the hardware store and get some of that old-fashion rope caulk used to caulk around home doors and windows. It has the consistency of clay but is petroleum based. takes years to dry out, easily formed, and can be easily removed each time you take the fixture off the body without taking off paint. Just take a little strip and put it around where the old gasket was on the lighting fixture and press the fixture back into place then screw it down.
