Okay guys. How do I get this column off the steering box ?? I wanna clean up the gear box and tear it down and make sure everything is good. But not sure how to get the shaft off ??
You have the shop service manual, right? Part Two Chapter III Section 5. If you don't have one, seriously, get one. The specialty Ford vendors have Digital copies, Physical Reprints, and used originals are on the secondary market.

I do not have a book on this truck. Sure wish I did. I did not know they were still available ! I’ll be tracking one down ASAP !
The steering shaft includes the worm gear and is one long piece from the box to the steering wheel. You can remove the sleeve tube cover, but the shaft itself will remain. You'll need to remove the steering wheel and any related parts at the top end that are in the way from removal first.
The steering box/shaft assembly is removed from the underside of the vehicle after the steering wheel is removed and other encumbrances are removed/disconnected.
