Power steering pump

Restoring my 77 f150 351m 4x4. Got the drivetrain bolted back onto the truck and I am currently cleaning up my accessories and mounts.
Noticed when I bought the truck that the power steering pump had some weird ridges on it so I took a wire wheel to it today and discovered that its pitted and leaking so they covered it with fiber glass LOL
Not something I care to re fiber glass and put back onto the truck.
I am more money into this truck than anywhere close to what I "budgeted" this year so I am looking for some suggestions. I am happy to buy a new cardone unit from rock auto for $100 but have read in passing about the wild horses power steering pump and wondering if anyone has used it
Is it really worth the extra money to purchase and install? Or should I just stick with the rock auto stock pump
thanks

Here is the pump I am talking about

I didn't know they ever put a TRW pump on a 335 series.

Changing the reservoir is easy, if your pump is good either braze it up and grind it down or find a good reservoir.

if you don't care about looks JB weld will fix it if you get it super clean.

good to know. I’ll look into how to remove the pulley and reservoir. I’ll be learning a new skill of brazing. Most of this truck has been new skills and I love it.

Doing that Saginaw pump swap from them, is the best deal ever. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...51m-400-a.html

based purely on the fact my power steering won’t cut out at low rpm has sold me on it quick. Clearly it’s an actually upgrade and I’ll be saving up as one of my next larger purchases
