Since I picked up this Dent a couple years ago, I’ve been limping along with the failing PSPump.
While trying to replace it, it isn’t anything like the OEM. Any ideas what the PO installed? I don’t like the way that the hose comes off the back; it almost touches the exhaust.
suggestions of what to replace it with are appreciated.
That is the correct pump and bracket, at least it matches both of my 77's... On my 77 F250 4x, I ended up getting the Wild Horses saginaw kit, only issue was I had to grind some of the mount, was a little frustrating, maybe they've fixed it now..? https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/78-79-...77-79-f150-4wd
mine supposedly matches the one on the right (see new pic). Is the one on the left (the one I have and am looking
to replace) a better model?
The pump on the right is the same style as my '79. The pressure line comes out at about the 5 o'clock position on the side (as you're looking at it from the front) and the return line is on the bottom. That style pump was used into the early '00s and maybe beyond. I converted to hydroboost on mine and used a p/s pump from an '01 superduty and it bolted in place and my original '79 pulley pressed on.
