Tire Size
I have read a lot of tire size discussions on this forum and elsewhere. I am looking at the Toyo AT3 and the BFG KO3 in size 295 65 r20 and 285 65 r20. I do not plan on adding a leveling or lift kit and want to know if anyone has experience fitting the 295 on a factory king ranch (‘24 or ‘25)? Does the 295 rub if the bed is loaded or if a trailer is being pulled?
I read elsewhere that the 295 may be too wide for some shops to install. However, both the Toyo and BFG tires show a recommended wheel width range between 8” and 11” per the discount tire website. I believe the king ranch 20” wheel is 8”.
I am also interested in opinions of the Toyo vs. the BFG? I’ve run the BFG KO2s for a number of years, but have read a lot of good reviews of the Toyo AT3.
Apologies for the long post and please let me know if I should post somewhere else or if there are already references to my questions saved somewhere (I don’t post on forums very often).
I had Toyo at3s in that size on my stock 20s and loved them. They were great.
I think on the 23+ trucks people are even running 37s on stock suspension without rub but I’ve never tried it so can’t confirm.
tossing on 295s will be trouble free and I think it’s a better look for how big trucks are now. Stock tires look so tiny.
