Just yesterday I installed F-250 blocks in the rear of my truck to level it out in the rear. The truck currently is riding on the stock Continental 275/R18 tires. I would like to go to a larger size tire, yet still get the truck into my garage. My garage limits me to an additional 3" in ride height over what I'm at currently. What size tire can I get away with and still get into the garage?
I'm looking at BFG AT KO tires or Nitto's. Open to other suggestion's, price not and issue.
A bigger garage... Sorry...with the 2006 you have more factory clearance so you should just be able to pick the size you want, calculate the difference in tire highth vs. the current tire and divide by two for the final truck highth.
Ok, did a little research on TireRack. My stock tires are 275/70R18. The BFG's TA Ko's that I looked at come in 285/65R18. What's the 70 and 65 #'s refer to in the tire size? Also the BFG in the 285 has a tire diameter of 32.8 vs 33.4 on my stock continental's. I know nothing about tires but I would of thought the 285 would have a larger diameter. What makes the 285 larger? Sorry for the stupid question's, just trying to learn a bit here.
As a side not I may hold out for the new Nitto Grappler M/T that set for release this fall. Nice aggresive looking tire.
