So we were out and about today, we get back in the truck and it turns on fine but then won’t go into gear. We turned it off and then back on, same thing…we were able to put it in neutral when it is turned off then can start the engine and put it in reverse and drive and back into park. With the engine running though it won’t shift out of park. Any idea what this could be? We’re thinking transmission but I know we also need our steering column rebuilt too so not sure if that could be a contributing issue.

 

It's probably the brake light switch. Do the brake lights work?
