Hello. New member. I Purchased the electronic manual for the 2024 F250 truck and ATX fluid dispenser that comes with all the fittings for different transmissions. 100 dollars on Amazon. Nice kit. The ford fitting has English thread size in kit. The manual states to connect a 12 mm fitting after removing the standpipe plug. This is where you fill the transmission. FYI I went through all the fluid levels and purchased the fluid dispenser in case I had to add. New F250 with 10r140. No plug at side of transmission which was deleted for 2024. The kit does have a 12mm fitting for the Mercedes. Never used the fluid dispenser so just want to make sure I don't damage using this fitting. I guess vehicle too new since I could not find any info on line for fitting to use to connect to ATX. I was going to ask dealer what they use but figured they would not entertain that question. The fluid dispenser connects to compressor which provides the power to extract or insert the fluid. You have to remove pan to drain. On mine the fluid just dripped at operating temperature. It is good. When the time comes to change the fluid I should be able to use the Mercedes fitting since same 12mm threads as standpipe fitting on 2024 F250?.
My 23 has the standpipe. I used this plug to fill the pan after service. Does your transmission have this plug? It's on the passenger side if memory serves me.

I got the OTC 6792 from my kids for Christmas. I too have a 2024 and this will come in handy. I did read on another thread from someone that works on these transmissions that the 12mm adapter is correct thread size for our trucks.
I will check today and will let you know. If so that would make it easier. I know the standard plug where you normally fill on my transmission right by the sticker that gives you the temp to check is filled in with metal and no plug to remove. On older transmissions there is a plug you can remove and fill. On 2024 you still have to fill until it just comes out of the standpipe hole to a drip at operating temperature on level surface watching not to burn your self on the exhaust. Ouch.
I have the same plug.
Looks tight to slide a box wrench and to be able to apply some leverage to loosen. Hopefully not to tight. Have to keep fill lines away from exhaust. I wonder if it is possible to insert one of the pump extractor lines in the plugs hole and push down to the bottom of pan. Do this when cold of course. Will something inside get in the way of allowing the tube to slide to bottom of the pan? One of the tubes provided on my extractor kit is made of neoprene and is really soft and pliable. Hopefully someone has tried and will comment. Would be nice to drain the fluid out of pan before removing. Would make the job less messy. With 530 miles on the vehicle I am not looking to this anytime soon but the vehicle will primarily be used to tow 6500 pound RV. These first 1000 miles are for break in unloaded. I plan on changing fluid every 20k to 25k miles. I am a firm believer in clean oil. 50k on filter. That is just me. Thanks for the info and I really appreciate. This may turn out to be a great site.
If anyone is interested here is the details on the ATX Insertion Extraction. Just copy the words and put in amazon search bar. Should come right up. $109.99. You need a compressor to connect to it. Works well.
The Mercedes adapter is 12MM. I am assuming this will work with 10R140 since the standpipe fitting is 12MM. Or course if you can fill via the plug on the side no issues. Just watch the hot exhaust. If you over fill the standpipe will allow the excess to run out. As the fluid expands with heat the level will be perfect at operating temp on level ground. Just slight drip according to manual.

Yes it is a straight shot to the bottom of the pan at that location. I did exactly what you are referring to except I used a hand pump. I used a price of bent copper tubing for the hot fill since the exhaust is right there. It is easy to get burned doing this haha.
.....Lately I've been getting a new truck before it is ready for transmission fluid change. Heck, my 2022 and 2023 barely made it to the first oil change, before getting a new truck. Hopefully the 2024 KR is with me a while!
Thanks for the info. Good idea on the copper tubing. Fairly easy to route through the back side of the frame around the exhaust before connecting to fill line. I left my old Dodge sit for a couple days and was able to get a good 6 to 7 quarts out of it. Manual at the time stated 4 quarts. Do you know how much fluid you were able to get out of it? I guess when I empty it I can mark the extractor jug and put fresh fluid in the jug and fill cold. Do the hot check after filling and add accordingly or let drain via standpipe at operating temp.
Thanks again
I was able to pump out 8 quarts which left maybe a quart in the pan. Another quart or so came out after dropping the filter. This was performed after sitting all night. 10 quarts filled it back up exactly.
Me? Yes, after dropping the pan and replacing the filter, I added back 10 quarts of Mercon ULV. I then drove the truck (it has to be driven pretty hard to achieve the proper temp of 195-205) and pulled the standpipe plug running in park. I got a slight trickle at this point.
Good to know. 10 qts sitting all night, remove pan and filter. For 674me the level is checked appx 195 degs in park after cycling through reverse and drive. Engine is in park running and truck should be on level ground if not on a lift. You should see a drip out the standpipe. This is out of the 2024 F250 Super Duty manual with 21406 pages.
