2011 composite oil pan
I do not have much of a reason for making this post other than to share, if anyone was curious how long the 2011 job 1 composite oil pan/gasket has the potential to last in age before needing replacement, it’s 14 years 7 months with my truck experience but only at 132,000 miles. It went from no drips on the ground to two quarts of oil on the ground after being parked for three weeks after last towing a tractor. Thankfully, I do not see how it could be the upper oil pan or anywhere else, oil free above the lower pan. Bolts are tight but I find it strange the gasket failed that badly in 180 miles. Waiting for a replacement pan and bolts so I guess I’ll find out after I get it removed. Too bad I only have 3,000 miles on that oil which replaced prior oil with 11,227 miles. From what I could find, the torque spec is 89 lb-in plus the pattern.
