I get oil seeping/leaking around the bolts on the oil pan. Two questions.
1. What it the torque specs on the oil pan bolts?
2. Is there a thread sealer I can use in the oil pan bolts?
Can't remember the torque spec...somewhere around 15 - 20 inch lbs is my guess.
I doubt sealant on the bolts will stop any leaks. I believe they are blind holes so oil does not go through them. The pan can be removed and replaced on FE engines in 2wd trucks by raising the engine off of its perches and dropping the oil pump. It is a pain in the butt.
