I am considering a '99 F250 4x4 with the v10. It has 77k miles on it. I haven't had any experience with this type of beast and am curious if this truck sends up any immediate red flags with you folks. Also, is there anything in particular that I should look for with this truck?
I have a '99 F-250 SuperCab 4x4 V-10 5SP. It has just over 80,000 miles and is running very strong. I would have no hesitation buying another 99 V-10 with the same miles, for the right price. The big difference between the 99 V-10 and the 00 & up V-10 is the power output. The 99 V-10 is rated at 275 bhp and 410 lb-ft of torque. The 00 & up is rated at 310 bhp and 425 lb-ft of torque (I think I have these numbers right. If not, someone will surely correct me).
I believe the only difference is the computer program, but I may be wrong. I don't know about the new ones, but the stock exhaust pipes from the manifords are the most retarded setup I have ever seen. The manifolds aren't worth a dime either. I welded them together and made a boat anchor.
