The road ahead

Been a while since i have been on here.. My Dad was sick and passed a little over 2 years ago. Mom was declining at that point, spent 3 months in the hospital this summer and passed in October. I finally retired 12-19-2024. Got a new tractor and plan to spend some time cleaning the farm up. The Ford fleet has been thinned somewhat. Down to 93 4x4 that has paid its dues, going to get it to the farm and just use it around there. Probably will move the 86 f250 4x4, 4 speed 460 out when i get it running again. Gonna concentrate on the 79 f250 4x4 4 speed. Been sitting several years, have a parts truck to help get it rolling again. Going to take awhile to adjust to new life style, but i am very blessed.

Thanks for checking in. Sorry to hear about all your losses and tribulations. It sounds like your life is becoming a bit more 'normal' and your road ahead is freshly paved. Godspeed to you.

Welcome back.

I can relate, best you can do is one day at a time.

Lost Dad in '69, lost Mom in '17 after retiring in '10.

Sorry for your losses, life is life sometimes, congrats on retiring! Enjoy the slower life, and you'll be amazed at the therapy you get from working on old trucks! I'm about 10yrs away from retiring, but there is nothing like a nice full day or 3 in my shop, even if it's piddling around mixed in with the wrenchin n cussin on one of my old Fords. Take one day at a time and be thankful for each day and what you have been blessed with, as you seem to know

Thanks
Looking forward to being retired, inherited a 250 acre farm, enjoy deer & turkey hunting, relic hunting and metal detecting. My long time friend lives next door to the farm, i am blessed with the best wife a man could have, if we don't do nothing drastic finances are in order, son is raised, still living at home but turned out pretty good. I am in pretty good health. I am going to enjoy the blessed life God has given me.

You sir sound like you are "doing better than I deserve" as I always say when asked, coined from Dave Ramsey and I think it's appropriate. I do take point with "I am blessed with the best wife a man could have.." as I'm pretty sure I have that one

In all seriousness, you sir are truly blessed, glad you see it!! Relax and enjoy the things that God has given you!! Keep counting your blessings, as you are! Happy for you!
