4X4 Speed

What speed should a person drive on packed snow in 4x4 high with a F250 powerstroke superduty and crewcab?

as fast as that person can still stop safely and the truck is stable and not sliding around.being in 4wd will help the truck go but it is still a slippery surface.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't phrase my question well. Is there a speed above which the 4x4 components in the drive train start to take a beating?

I throw mine in in/out of 4x4 all the time during the winter time at speeds of 55-65.

well i've had mine up to 70 in 4hi before and didn't hurt anything.

you should be fine around 60.

a friend of mine drove 70 miles at 65 mph on dry pavement without hurting anything.

how he didnt realize it is beyond me

I always use 4 hi when drag racing. I see 95-100mph. As long asyou don't take tight turns on dry pavement, your fine. It's the binding in a tight turn hat hurts the system. You'll know it when you hear and feel it popping while turning.
