Parking etiquette?

My wife and I parked the 250 at the hotel last night. We're seriously the only car in the hotel parking lot until white Kia came along AND PARKED RIGHT BESIDE US. Whaaaaaa? 🤪😂

A far out spot appeals to many. I like to back in tight with the wheels pointing out. Perhaps that guy thought your truck made a great shield.

I always try for a spot next to a handicap or one of those cart return carousels to give me extra space

Like you I always park far away in the parking lot. But I also hug one side of the vehicle against the curb. That gives me a little bit of extra space and eliminates door dings on one side of the vehicle.

I just figured with me being the only car in the lot, I was safe parking there. Lol

I stopped once at a rest stop, noticing a van with the windows broken out of it in Mid-Mo. .
After finishing up and going back to my 4Runner, I mentioned it to the guy standing by the van.
He says, "I'm headed to Texas, Guess the X and her kids caught up with me at the Motel last night."
Wonder how many Gents with damaged vehicles are headed for Texas?

I once read that a vehicle parked off by itself "looked inviting to thieves."

I generally park with the others unless there is some other factor like better lighting, better line-of-sight to it, etc.

Parking by myself was the only choice Christmas night. I was seriously the only vehicle in the lot. In the morning we were the only two. Ha!

I worked front desk (night auditor) at a hotel by the interstate for nearly a year. Both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve NOBODY WAS IN THE HOTEL BUT ME. No one staying, no one checked in, and no one checked out.

I can relate to the feeling.
