Within a month of getting my truck the gas flap does not stay closed, and drops down 1/2 - 3/4”. I will take to dealer but wondering if this is common or not.
Mine is so hard to open. Funny thing is ford asked in a survey if the gas cap was hard to open. Didn't as any questions about other things so maybe they changed the cap and did it wrong which you got.
Had mine fixed as well. There’s a recall out on them
Somehow I missed this post.
I finally got mine scheduled with a few other things, and they confirmed it was a known issue. Technically a "service bulletin", not a recall. If it was a recall they would have notified all owners.
Waiting to see if they will do the dummy hub fix under that service bulletin as well... I do have to say this dealer has been the best dealer I have ever worked with - from SAAB to Toyota, GM, Mercedes, Kia, other Fords, etc.

Can you post a pic of what you are seeing or what the problem looks like? I cant picture what it might be or look like.
This is it's "natural habitat" after a couple of miles:

Ahhh, I gotcha. Thats the fuel door. On other vehicles that have a capless fuel filler neck, there is a little flapper in the neck instead that people call a ‘flapper’. LoL. So I was thinking of that…
Got my truck back today from Formula Ford in Rutland, VT. They fixed the floppy gas flap/door.
They also replaced the dummy hub with a real locking hub (and the associated vacuum lines to operate automatically). Never gave me one lick of pushback on it.
They drove 45 minutes to my place of business to pick up my truck and leave me a loaner. They probably didn't expect me to put 1,000 miles on a brand new vehicle but it is what it is. I have nothing but the highest regard for this dealer so far. They experience is only a confirmation of similar experience since I've gotten the truck last June.
