upper intake boltzs.

i am working on a 88 f150 302 and have lost the upper intake bolts. the shop manual doesn't have anything about the upper intake just the lower. the only thing i can think of is going to a wrecking yard 80 miles away to try to get the bolts. the most difficult one will be the torque bolt stuck in the middle. i had them all in a box and someone desided to organize and clean up my area. thanks who ever that was.

You're welcome. Now your space is so clean, you can actually do some work.

I've never liked the quality of Ford's aluminum. A lot like the Asian cars. Just junk that corrodes.

I probably have those bolts in my toolbox and the torx ones too
They are usually laying on the ground or under the hood at the junkyard
I travel 35-70 miles to visit the junkyards I need to
Ford parts should be able to give you part numbers for the bolts and you could then search Ebay for the bolts
I would just take the road trip and get the bolts at the junkyard

I thought it was just me. I had never had a starter bolt snap in all the years of wrenching on Mopars until I went to change my first Ford starter in an E4OD. Lot of fun fixing that.

When I replaced my coolant pump on my 95 5.8l, I had more bolts seize on that job than 20 years of working on German cars. I used all my trick and only had one actually break. I was able to drill it out and save a lot of work. I do believe, most bolts that break/strip are because people do not know when to say when. The #1 rule for me is never ever strip the head. Once you do, it gets really bad. Experience lets you know when something will start to strip/break. Lots of tools to prevent that. You don't know when it will be a problem without hundreds of thousand of bolts/nuts that were removed.

No, you are not the only one who thinks the metal is bad.
