I just installed a new intake manifold on my 75 F250 with a 360. I was wondering if anyone knew what the intake bolts should be torqued down to? Also since I had to take the rocker arms off to get the intake off, what should I torque the rocker bolts down to? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
is the motor in the truck? If it is use a hoist to lift the intake up and on the motor. trust me on this i put one in a 68 f-100 and pulled my back. I was not using a hoist, I dropped the gaskets and it was such a mess trying to move that heavy thing.
is the intake the old iron intake or new aluminum?
If i rember right the intake is 25lbs ( i might be off the wall on that one but i think that was right) start to trq the middle bolts first working your way out in a criss cross pattern. ( you dont want to warp that thing) The back to bolts are the short bolt. You might not be able to get the back bolts started until you start to tighten the other bolts but that is ok. just tighten the others up until you are able to get the back ones started.
the rocker bolts should be trq to 45 lbs. ( only about 1 turn each all the way down the line until you get to all of them trq to that spec)
I hope that helps and that someone can verify that they are the right numbers.
